¡Adelante! Book Group
2011-2012
Adelante Book Group
Theme: "
Opportunities for Lifelong Learning: Transcending Barriers through Reading and Discussion"
The Adelanté Book Group sponsors a series of Community Dialogues in which people from diverse parts of the community come together to discuss selected books and the key issues they raise. This year’s series includes books from diverse cultures and time frames which address issues of special concern to women and their families. These works explore AAUW’s principles of equity, education, and positive societal change, and they support our strong belief that inclusiveness and diversity enrich individuals and the community as a whole.
Each session will include discussion of a primary text, plus a thumbnail review, with brief comments, on one or more related books. Participants are encouraged to suggest additional related books for each session.
