Veronica Bryant, State Membership Chair will comment on the value of AAUW membership.  Branch Officers, will distribute information about programs and projects for the year. Special recognition of Student Affiliate members and AAUW Award recipients.

Prison Literacy, a project being initiated by the Literacy Council of Central Alabama. Beth Hughes Wilder, President of the Literacy Council will discuss the project and explore ways AAUW can help

Jennifer Stewart, hostess.   Holiday music; gift items available from area artists and craftspersons.  Proceeds Benefit Reading Is Fundamental and AAUW’s other Educational Programs.

Combined Branch Meeting and Book Group Session.  Kathy Lowe, Director of Carmichael Library will present her research on Professor John Steelman, an Alabama College faculty member who studied racial violence in Alabama in the 1930's.  Wilson Fallin, UM professor of history, will put Kathy’s research into a broader context of the quest for racial justice in Alabama.
